On April 9, the Fondation held a press conference to mark the first edition of the Cyclotour santé Outaouais, a one-of-a-kind cycling event in Outaouais that will take place on September 13, 2014. For the first edition, sport cyclists and families will ride to raise funds to help the ‘’CSSS de Gatineau’’ Cancer Centre buy equipment and improve patient care.
The event’s honorary chair, Mr. Pierre Bergeron, took the opportunity to invite local residents to participate in large numbers: “Remember that this battle is never fought alone. Just as cycling in a group facilitates the work of all riders, the fight against cancer is a team effort of which we are all members”, said Mr. Bergeron.
The 125 km Desjardins route is for avid sport cyclists, each of whom must collect at least $1,000 for the cause. You can also take part in this adventure as a family, on the 25 km route. Each family must collect at least $500.
